Make an Appointment
GP appointments are 15 minutes long
During this time your GP can safely handle one big problem and one small problem
If you have more than two problems to discuss with your GP we request that you book a second appointment
Appointments are for existing patients of Tubbercurry family practice
For URGENT appointments - e.g. sick children/adults that need to be assessed immediately - please call the practice directly to talk to our reception team
Request Prescription
Routine repeat prescriptions take 5 working days to process - please order repeat prescriptions at least one week before you need the medication
In exceptional circumstances we will facilitate emergency prescriptions
Medical card and State Contraception Scheme patients are entitled to free repeat prescriptions
All prescriptions are sent directly to the pharmacy
Routine medicines are prescribed for 3 to 6 months. Please check with your pharmacy to see how many months remain on your last prescription before ordering a new one
In the interests of safety, requests for medications such as antibiotics, sleeping tablets, and other special medications will require a consultation with a doctor before being prescribed. If there is an issue such as this, we will contact you by phone to discuss your prescription.
Private prescriptions are subject to a fee and require payment in advance.
Book a blood test
Blood tests are only for existing patients of this practice
Blood tests for children under the age of 16 first require a consultation with your GP, please book one here.
Generally, blood tests are performed at most once a year unless your doctor has requested to attend more frequently to monitor your medical condition or medications
The doctor will decide on the day - in conjunction with your view - which blood tests to order. However, the final decision remains with the doctor
This appointment is ONLY for taking blood and your doctor/nurse will not be able to discuss any other issues. For that, you will need to book a GP appointment.
Blood tests are performed on Tuesday mornings, on all other days, it is the responsibility of the patient to bring the the bloods to Sligo University Hospital.
